SchoolSmartKC Kansas City Public Education System (KCPES) Data Summit

Focus Areas: K-12 Education

Year: 2023-Present

A regional convening to explore data, outcomes, and opportunities in the Kansas City Public Education System.

The KCPES Data Summit, hosted annually by SchoolSmartKC, brings together educators, policymakers, advocates, support organizations, and funders to examine educational outcomes for K–12 students living within the boundaries of Kansas City Public Schools.

The Urban Education Research Center (UERC) leads the data preparation, analysis, and presentation efforts, using data from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and regional districts. Data Summit content is co-developed by SchoolSmartKC, PRiME at Saint Louis University (SLU), and UERC, with a shared goal of informing stakeholders, fostering data-driven collaboration, and encouraging collective action to support student growth and success.
