Evaluation of Hall Family Foundation Literacy Initiatives

Focus Areas: K-12 Education

Year: 2024-Present

This evaluation examines the implementation and impact of various literacy initiatives across a group of ten elementary schools in Kansas City.

The Hall Family Foundation (HFF) provides support to a group of ten elementary schools across the Kansas City area to implement new or expanded literacy initiatives. These programs include one-on-one tutoring, educational technology to support reading instruction, and support for teachers through professional development and instructional coaching.

UERC is serving as the evaluation partner for these literacy initiatives, conducting both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis to examine implementation successes and challenges, assess changes in student reading behaviors and skills, and explore how these programs impact knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction among teachers, support staff, and administrators.
