This evaluation examines how the Bloch Scholars Program, a full tuition scholarship helps students persist in college and graduate.

The UERC is conducting an evaluation of the Henry W. Bloch Scholars ProgramThe program provides scholarships covering full tuition and fees. The program is intended for local Kansas City students with a drive to succeed who intend to earn a bachelor’s degree but may not be considered for traditional scholarships based on past academic performance or life circumstances. The scholarship is available to students at the Donnelly College, Metropolitan Community College, Rockhurst University and the University of Missouri Kansas City The evaluation uses administrative data from the four participating colleges, the National Student Clearinghouse, and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) to assess how program participants fare in college. The evaluation will focus on seven cohorts of Bloch Scholars admitted to the program between 2018 and 2024 and will examine key postsecondary outcomes, including persistence, transfer, and completion
