Violence Prevention & Victim Advocacy
The UMKC Women’s Center serves as a victim advocate to assist students, faculty and staff in understanding various resources, policies and procedures related to violence and safety at UMKC. Women’s Center staff are available to provide support and guidance for those experiencing sexual harassment or other forms of sexual violence.
Students who are victims of sexual assault may contact the Violence Prevention and Response Manger (contact information below) or the UMKC Police.

Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program is available to all faculty, staff and their dependents. Total Rewards and UMKC Human Resources departments have partnered with Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City to provide this service. Their staff of professional counselors is trained to help with issues related to family or relationship difficulties, stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse problems, work concerns and financial problems.

- Reporting the incident to the police is not mandatory to initiate a campus investigation.
