Part-Time Temporary Data Collector Positions Available

My name is Laura Brown, and I work at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art as the Manager of Evaluation and Visitor Research. I’m writing today to see if you know of any students who would be interested in the following (paid) visitor research opportunity:

We’re hiring 2 part-time, temporary data collectors for an exciting visitor research project here at the museum (please see attached job description). The project is scheduled to start in late August (training will be held at the museum for a few hours on August 23rd), and we expect to wrap up data collection in October. Data collectors will each work approximately 75 hours (we may also extend the project scope a bit–so there’s the potential for more hours as well).

Interested candidates should apply through the museum’s website:

Thank you for time!

Sincerely,

Jobs with iMPACT

Impact builds the grassroots action and power it takes to make an impact on important issues. From making sure life-saving antibiotics aren’t used to fatten up chickens and pigs on factory farms, to calling on the Trump administration to uphold America’s commitment to the new renewable energy economy the world needs, we need organizers now more than ever.

Climate change is an issue we cannot afford to wait any longer to solve. We need America to continue to be a leader on reducing emissions linked to climate change. President Trump has indicated that he plans to get rid of protections that reduce carbon emissions from power plants and has said he will not follow through on the Paris Climate Agreement.

We are looking to hire our next class of organizers who will be on the ground in 25 states and on college campuses to mobilize businesses, faith leaders and citizens to demonstrate the commitment to keeping our promises on climate change, and transitioning to a sustainable, renewable energy economy.

We need people with the determination, training and skills to win over Americans who aren’t with us yet, and who can galvanize those who are with us, but aren’t yet involved.

Recent graduates who are searching for full-time work and are passionate about protecting our environment are encouraged to apply! Learn more about available full-time positions on our website .

Peer Mentor Opportunities with UMKC Propel Program

Attention all UMKC Sophomores and Juniors!  UMKC’s Propel Program is seeking students to become peer mentors beginning Fall 2017.  The Propel program is designed to provide young adults with disabilities a two-year college experience. This includes campus living, academic support, the ability to attend regular academic courses and have an undergraduate mentor.

The Propel Program is eager to have ten – fifteen undergraduate mentors. Their role will be to mentor Propel students.

UMKC students, undergraduate and graduate, will provide student mentoring and support to the Propel students.  Peer mentoring is a kind of relationship between more experienced UMKC students and Propel students.  Peer mentors provide education, recreation and support opportunities to Propel students.  The mentors may challenge their Propel mentee with new ideas, and encourage the mentee to move beyond the things that are most comfortable.  Peer mentors are selected for their sensibility, confidence, social skills and reliability.  Our Propel peer mentors will be trained prior to each semester on being a peer mentor and on providing support for people with disabilities in a way that fosters self-determination.
