Peace Internship Position Re-Opened

We request your help in filling this reopened American Friends Service Committee Peace Internship position and sharing information with students at UMKC who might be interested in this unique opportunity. The Peace Internship provides experience working for peace and justice and implementing programs using the arts and poetry to help high school-aged youth speak out for social change.
We are particularly interested in increasing the diversity of our applicant pool and encourage students of color to apply. We have had the pleasure of working with talented motivated students over the past several years and are looking forward to recruiting students to work with us who bring their interest and a willingness to learn and engage in hands on peace and justice activities.
Copied below is an announcement for the paid part-time peace internship, (8 to 10 hours / week), which will take place during the 2015-16 school year. The Peace Interns will conduct peace and justice activities designed to engage high school-aged youth in several peacemaking projects and provide program support to Kansas City American Friends Service Committee peace education and social action work.
We would appreciate you posting, announcing this opening and sharing information with students whom you feel may be interested and make good candidates for this position. The internship position has been reopened and will close as soon as we hire a qualified candidate, so please encourage interested students to respond as soon as possible.
Thank you for your assistance. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
