We request your help in passing on information about the American Friends Service Committee’s Peace Internship to students at  UMKC who might be interested in this unique opportunity to gain experience working for peace and nonviolent social change.
We have had the pleasure working with knowledgeable motivated students over the past several years and are looking forward to recruiting student to work with us who bring their interest and a willingness to learn and engage in hands on peace and justice activities.
The attached flyer is an announcement for the paid part-time peace internship, (8 to 10 hours / week), which will take place during the 2015-16 school year.
The Peace Interns will conduct peace and justice activities designed to engage high school-aged youth in several peacemaking projects and provide program support to Kansas City American Friends Service Committee peace education and social action work.
We would appreciate you posting, announcing this opening and sharing information with students whom you feel may be interested and make good candidates for this position. The application deadline is June 12, 2015.
