My name is Emily Hane, and I work for Literacy Kansas City. I know the sociology department may have some soon-to-be graduates who are looking for their next step.
Literacy Kansas City is the largest education provider for low literate adults in the KC metro. We serve over 400 individuals a year, and we are currently recruiting for two Americorps VISTAs positions, the Ticket to Read Program Coordinator and Family Reading Program Coordinator.
Americorps VISTAs receive a monthly stipend and a $5,000 education stipend to pay for student loans or to put towards graduate school tuition. This is a great opportunity to do meaningful work and really build up professional skills.
Thank you for all you do, and if any potential applicant has any questions, I’d be more than happy to answer!
Sincerely,
Emily Hane
