Religious Understanding Town Hall

What is Religious UnderstandingOn behalf of Avila University, UMKC students are invited to an important event in philosophy and religious studies.

Avila University will be hosting a “What is Religious Understanding?” Public Town Hall meeting Tuesday, March 10, at 6:30 p.m., to engage attendees in an open, inclusive and non-specialized discussion about faith, breaking down barriers and finding common ground.

The town hall, facilitated by Dr. Martin Shuster, Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Avila University, will include seven expert panelists from universities and colleges nationwide. The event is part of a year-long research project in religious understanding across the faiths of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam.

It is free to the public and anyone who is interested in questions of religion and finding commonalities across different faiths is welcome to attend.
