2025 Proposals

The International Center for Supplemental Instruction (SI) is inviting session proposals from September 13, 2024 to December 6, 2024 for the Global SI Leader Summit, which will be held virtually on March 21-22, 2025.

Recognizing the valuable contributions of student leaders who lead SI/PASS sessions, we are exclusively seeking proposals from these student leaders, with the potential of a co-presenter being a professional or academic staff. We understand that the process of selecting a topic and crafting a proposal can be challenging. To help with this, a proposal committee comprised of members from various regions will offer optional free workshops to help student leaders develop compelling session topics and proposals.

The dates and times are listed here, as well as a button leading to our Customer Portal to register for one of these sessions. Further details on submission types, review criteria, and the submission form for each proposal type can be found in the table below.

Interactive Session Proposal

These are engaging 45-minute sessions regarding effective practices. Sessions may address (but are not limited to) topics such as professional development, mentoring, observations, innovations/adaptations, session strategies, marketing, online SI, etc. Important Considerations:
  • All conference sessions need to be conducted at least 75% by SI/PASS Leaders.
  • Professional and Academic staff can serve as co-presenter and support the creation of the proposal.
  • A max of three presenters (including a professional) are permitted.
  • Clear learning objective
  • Clearly defined structure of the session including opener and closer
  • Description of engagement through audience participation
  • Interactive activities that promote reflection and application
  • Demonstration of session-level innovation

Lightning Session Proposal

Lightning Sessions are 15-minute discussions (total time) designed by student leaders to share innovative session ideas. These sessions provide a platform to engage with peers and professionals in a focused, time-efficient format, encouraging active participation through audience questions, feedback, and discussion. Important Considerations
  • This session type is for single SI/PASS Leader presenters only.
  • No professional co-presenters permitted for this session type.
  • Must contain a well-developed concept and learning objectives
  • Demonstration of session-level innovation
  • Clear description of desired outcomes–what input/feedback would yield for future exploration
