The International Center for Supplemental Instruction in partnership with TEDU presents:

The SI Leader Summit & 12th International Conference on Supplemental Instruction

The Golden Age of SI: Celebrate 50 Years with Us
June 9-11, 2022

50 years ago, a committee convened at the University of Missouri-Kansas City to address issues of student retention and graduation. Informed by learning theory and best practices, the methodology we now know as Supplemental Instruction was piloted by a team led by grad student Deanna Martin. That initial pilot demonstrated an astounding positive impact, and as the methods have been refined, SI has proven to be an enduring best practice in student success.

The years since 1973 have truly been a golden age for SI—a time of proliferation, refinement, and reinvention. Some may assert that SI has withstood no greater test than in these recent years when a global pandemic caused us to shift and change our implementation practices in ways we may not have thought possible.

In true SI fashion, let’s collaborate for solutions and explore concepts without judgment for what we are still learning. Let’s share our stories of challenge and triumph and ask probing questions. Let’s meet, eat, learn, and celebrate 50 years of SI with one another in the anchor city of the region known as The Golden Horseshoe—Toronto.

SI Leader Summit

The International Center for Supplemental Instruction is excited to host another SI Leader Summit, which will run concurrently with our 12th International Conference on Supplemental Instruction. This event will bring together SI Leaders from Supplemental Instruction programs around the globe for a morning of professional development with each other and Certified SI Trainers and two days of concurrent sessions led by their fellow SI Leaders. Attendees will be invited to submit session proposals. In true SI fashion, there will be plenty of opportunities for SI Leaders to collaborate, share ideas, and network.
