Professors Marco Brotto and Reza Derakhshani Receive UM Fast Track II Initiative Funds

School of Nursing (SoN) Endowed Professor Marco Brotto and UMKC School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) Associate Professor Reza Derakhshani have received UM Fast Track II Initiative Funds. Their project, the “Prototyping of a mobile electronic sensing device for the diagnosis of myocardial infarcts”, is a collaborative effort. The UM Intellectual Property Fast Track II program is an internal funding mechanism to help develop emerging new technologies by providing the means for researchers “to focus on development, testing, or prototype construction, and/or conduct specific market research. This evaluation may lead to industry collaboration, licensing, the formation of a new company, or the abandonment of the technology for commercial application.”
