SCE hosts ACM Mid-Central Region Student Programming Contest

SCE is a host site for this year’s ACM Mid-Central Region Student Programming Contest. This is an annual contest sponsored by ACM, and is part of the qualifying process for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, which is held this year in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.  Ten teams from 5 schools will be participating at UMKC. Teams from Missouri Western State University, Northwest Missouri State University, Park University, the University of Central Missouri, and UMKC will be competing the afternoon of November 6.  SCE teaching professor Brian Hare  is the site coordinator for the ACM contest, and the coach for the teams. Dave Hanna and Stephen Pottebaum from Information Services have been providing very useful technical support. Three teams are competing for UMKC:

  • Team UMKC++: Kevin Wisniewski, Madhurima Poddar, Paul R. Smith
  • Class T: Matthew Parish, Dylan Edwards, Kenneth Petr
  • UMKC Reserve: Justin Smith, Eric Gonzalez, Reggie Roby
