KC-RPDC MAP-A Training for Veteran Test Administrators
This professional learning opportunity will build participant knowledge in the process of completing the Dynamic Learning MAPs (DLM) for our students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. This training is a refresher for veteran educators and will cover the basics of implementation, annual updates on the assessment and details on the new science protocols. This session will also connect assessment, to instruction, using the data collected and IEP goal writing to make the MAP-A assessment purposeful for educators and students.
Includes science updates for 2026-27 school year.
PRESENTERS:
R. Kent Yocum has experience teaching in California, Missouri, Kansas and Japan. Kent has over 25 years of experience in teaching kindergarten through adult and college, general education classroom, Instructional Coach, Innovation Specialist, ELL Instructor and as Principal for traditional districts settings, charter schools and an alternative magnet.
Denise Cunningham serves as a Special Education Improvement Consultant. She joined the Kansas City Regional Professional Development Center with over 25 years of experience in elementary education. She has extensive experience in providing district and school professional development, state standards, literacy, and instructional coaching. She is passionate about learning and facilitating growth with all learners she teaches to ensure teacher and student success.
