MAP-A Training New Science Protocols
This professional learning opportunity will build participant knowledge in the process of completing the Dynamic Learning MAPs (DLM) for our students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. This training will cover the basics of implementation with a focus on the new science assessment protocols and criteria. This session will also connect the science essential elements to reading and math to create units of instruction to make MAP-A assessments purposeful.
Presenters:
R.Kent Yocum has experience teaching in California, Missouri, Kansas and Japan. Kent has over 25 years of experience teaching kindergarten through adult and college, general education classroom, Instructional Coach, Innovation Specialist, ELL Instructor and as Principal for traditional districts settings, charter schools and an alternative magnet.
Denise Cunningham has over 25 years of experience in elementary education. She began teaching in rural Vermont and then continued her career in the North Kansas City School District including roles as, K-5 Reading Specialist, 2nd grade classroom teacher, Teaching and Learning Coach and an Assistant Principal.
Cost: $30.00 for KCRPDC Members and $35.00 for Non-Members
