Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics Cohort 2 Grades K-5
This cohort will provide support for math teachers in grades K-5 who are currently implementing the teaching practices from the Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics book by Peter Liljedal. We will meet four times during the school year.
Presenters: Deann Clawson is a K-12 Math Consultant for the Kansas City Regional Professional Development Center. She is a former middle and high school math teacher, K-12 math coach, and Director of Curriculum and Assessment. Deann is excited to work with others who share her love for mathematics.
Phil Gegen is a K-12 Math Consultant for the Kansas City RPDC. Before joining RPDC, Phil taught HS math for 26 years, including 4 years in rural NW Missouri followed by 22 years at Oak Park High School in Kansas City. He also taught in the Upward Bound Program at NWMSU, coached high school tennis and cross country, and prior to teaching worked in banking for 10 years. There are 5 different session dates per school year beginning on 8/28/24 thru 2/24/25.
Cost: $80/participant for member districts; $100/participant for nonmember districts
