Success with Co-Teaching

This co-teacher training is provided by Dr. Julie Bost, a national trainer who studied directly with Marilyn Friend (Co-Teaching Expert). This professional learning day will include the following topics: research and rationale for co-teaching and inclusion, building the collaborative partnership, strategies for effective co-teaching schedules and co-planning, understanding the six co-teaching approaches, examples of co-teaching strategies and lesson plans, applying the co-teaching approaches in daily lesson planning, and utilizing feedback and coaching to grown co-teachers.
Dr. Bost, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the Specialized Education Department a the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, coordinates the Special Education Program and teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses. Prior, she was a Program Specialist for the Almance-Burlington School System in NC where she supervised special education programming. Julie has 20 years of experience in the public school setting including leadership, teaching resource and co-teaching (math and language arts) in K-12. She earned National Board Certification in 2005 and her Ed.D. in Leadership in 2015. Dr. Bost has presented throughout the country on SpEd, inclusion, diversity, data analysis, behavior and co-teaching.
