Fostering Resilient Learners is presented by Kristin Sourers who has co- author 2 books – Fostering Resilient Learner, Strategies for Creating Trauma -Sensitive Classroom and Relationships, and Regulations , Trauma Invested Practices for Fostering Resilience.

Kristin brings over 2 decades of experience working in a variety of fields as an adjunct faculty member at the Gonzaga University School of Education in the Counselor Education Department, and the Assistant Director of the Washington State University Child and Family Research Unit. Kristin now provides critical professional development, consultation, education, and training services to schools, school districts, and organizations throughout the country.

This professional day of learning will include, the importance of incorporating trauma invested practices into our work , a basic understanding of the impact of trauma on teaching and learning, and a common understanding and language about how stress can disrupt teaching and learning. Kristen will also provide strategies for teachers, social workers, school counselors and administrators to avoid burnout and keep students’ learning -ready.
