Early Learner: Establishing Basic Skill Sets (2-day training)

Quite often, students on the autism spectrum, as well as learners with other developmental delays, present with limited skill sets. This 2-day training will cover methods for assessing and establishing early basic skills as a starting point so that effective programs can be developed. Concepts that will be covered include methods for establishing instructional control through pairing, teaching strategies for beginning programs, and a framework for responding to problem behavior. Training components will include written pre/post-tests, oral competencies and demonstration of teaching procedures. This training is modeled after training provided as part of Pennsylvania’s PaTTAN Autism Initiative.
