Jill joined the KCRPDC in September 2021 as a full time DCI consultant. Prior to coming to the KCRPDC, she worked 32 ½ years in the public school system. She taught special education for several years, was a classroom teacher in third and fourth grades, served as an instructional coach, served as both an assistant principal and principal. She has presented at the Powerful Learning Conference and at the Missouri Elementary and Secondary Principals Conference on Response to Intervention and the data team process. Her area of expertise includes tiered intervention support for both academic and behavior. She has a strong foundation in the area of literacy, including strategies to support student success in the classroom. During her time in the North Kansas City School District she collaborated on a book for all incoming kindergartners that is still presented to future students on kindergarten readiness skills. She is an experienced curriculum writer with a focus on writing ELA curriculum that supports the workshop model and alignment with the Missouri Learning Standards, including Priority Standards. Jill received her master’s and specialist’s degree from UMKC.
