Emily Howell joined the RPDC in 2020 with 15 years’ experience in elementary education. As a consultant at the RPDC, she currently works supporting school districts through the District Continuous Improvement framework and previously worked as an SW-PBS consultant. Prior to coming to the RPDC, she served as an elementary principal, teacher leader, and 3rd grade teacher in both public and private schools in the Kansas City area, and taught 2nd and 3rd grades and elementary music in St. Joseph, MO. She also has experience writing curriculum and assessments at the district level, developing tiered intervention systems for academic and behavioral supports, and helping teachers implement current best practices for teaching and learning through professional development and coaching. She has been active in the Kansas City education community through her involvement with ParentCamp, EdCamp KC, and the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals. In addition to her Masters’ and Ed. Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, she completed a doctorate in Educational Administration through William Woods University in May 2021.
