Mike Brown, Ed.D.

District Continuous Improvement Consultant

Dr. Mike Brown joined the KCRPDC in July 2024 as a District Continuous Improvement
Consultant after 34 years in education. He is an educator and coach at heart with a
personal mission to inspire, motivate and coach individuals, teams and organizations to
continuously improve and achieve their own success.
Dr. Brown began his career as a teacher and soccer coach at Blue Springs High School.
He then spent four years as the Head Soccer Coach at UMKC before returning to K-12
education. While serving as a secondary administrator in the Park Hill School District,
Dr. Brown earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University.
He later became the Assistant Superintendent – Academic Services/Continuous
Improvement for the Platte County School District. After retiring in June of 2023, he
served as the Director of Coaching for Global FC, Kansas City’s premier organization
serving underserved youth through year-round soccer, education and mentorship.
Dr. Brown’s strength is building relationships and motivating people. He is a strong
believer in the power of a united team and has extensive experience in leadership
development, strategic planning, quality continuous improvement and coaching. He has
been a workshop facilitator and keynote speaker for several organizations and
conferences. Dr. Brown participated in the MO Lead Experience, previously served on
the Executive Advisory Board of the Professional Development Network and is a current
adjunct professor at Park University where he teaches graduate leadership courses.
Dr. Brown and his wife, Megan, have four children and two grandchildren. He enjoys
spending time at the lake with his family, is an avid Cardinals fan and runner. He has
personally ran over 300 marathons to date and loves to help others achieve their life
goals through personal coaching. Mike is a certified running coach and the Co-Founder
of Fueled to Thrive LLC.
