Heidi Newlon, Ed.S. joined the RPDC team in July 2016. She brought with her over 20 years of education experience. Heidi is our Literacy Instruction and Intervention Consultant, specializing in Dyslexia, Literacy instruction and intervention and foundational reading skills.  She is a certified Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling facilitator. She began her educational career as a classroom teacher where she taught kindergarten – 3rd grade. Following her classroom experience she became an ELL instructor, instructional coach, district instructional coach and district high needs coach. Heidi’s educational background include a B.S. from Bemidji State University, an M.S. from the University of Kansas and a Specialist’s Degree in Administration from UMKC. Heidi is passionate about building collaborative relationships with educators. She is motivated by student and educator success.
