The UMKC Graduate Art History Association proudly presents their first annual exhibition, We Now Pronounce You: Redefining Marriage in the 21st Century, featuring an array of different contemporary artists from within the UMKC community who have created visual interpretations of what marriage means in the current social and political climate. Using Jan van Eyck’s The Arnolfini Portrait as an inspirational springboard, these multimedia artworks explore the different facets associated with the idea of matrimony, as well as underlying themes such as identity, commercialism, sexuality, and gender.

Join us each Thursday morning and evening for presentations by the following departments and organizations: Sociology, English Language and Literature, History, Latina/Latino Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, the Conservatory of Music and Dance, The Women’s Center, and OUTLaws.
