Swinney Rec Center Aquatics
Did you know that swimming is one of the most widely enjoyed recreational activities in the nation? Swimming is an excellent fitness activity for people of all ages–and swimming is a great way to relieve stress and relax! The Aquatic Center at Swinney Recreation Center is open multiple hours throughout the week and the pool is available to rent for social gathering outside of our normal swim hours.
Don’t know how to swim? We also offer swim lessons where a swim instructor will work with you based on your individual needs (college swim courses for credit are also held each semester).
Already know how to swim and looking for another adventure? Get your friends together and try Discover Scuba or take our PADI Open Water Diver course. Additional information on the Aquatic Center hours and the programs offered can be found during your next visit to the Swinney Recreation or online at www.umkc.edu/src.
Hi.
I’m a scuba instructor myself. Where do you conduct your Open Water Dives? Do you do all confined training first and then go out to the open water dives, or do you mix them up?
Do your students use PADI Elearning much?
Regards,
Tobi
