UMKC students traveled all over the planet this past academic year, participating in study abroad experiences. Now you have an opportunity to find out how to take your own first step on that rewarding path!

On September 11, 2012 International Academic Programs will host its Ninth Annual Study Abroad Fair in the Student Union Multipurpose Room (401) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Fair offers students, faculty and staff a chance to learn about all of the international education opportunities available through UMKC.  Study Abroad representatives and Faculty-Led Program Directors will be available to talk about their programs, and past study abroad participants will be available to answer questions about their experiences.

Even in a tough economy, it is possible for student financial aid to be applied to study abroad expenses. Students can work with their Academic Advisors to ensure that credits earned abroad satisfy their degree requirements. And although it may be a great advantage to study in a foreign language, many international universities teach courses in English, making the most exotic destinations accessible to English speakers.

Whether learning international law in Ireland, nursing practices in Honduras or language and culture in France, students praised the Study Abroad program as rewarding and enriching. Some had their lives, their professional goals and personal interests changed forever. International Academic Programs encourages students to attend the Study Abroad Fair on September 11. There will never be a better time to explore your options, or your world.
