The Sketchbook Project Mobile Library will kick-off its nation-wide tour at UMKC on Thursday, October 3 and will be open from 2 to 8 pm on the Playhouse Mall (near 51st and Holmes).

You are invited to browse the library of sketchbooks submitted for the Right/Write When You Get There Tour, which invited both artists and writers from around the world to collaborate on a collection of stories, memoirs, sketches and expressions that combine the visual and the literal.

Brought to you by the UMKC Department of Art and Art History, stop by to check out sketchbooks and mingle with other creative and critical minds!

Co-founder and Director of Operations, Steven Peterman will present a lecture, “The Sketchbook Project: A Global Art Library Grows”, about collaboration and how the idea and realization of The Sketchbook Project and other Art House Projects have grown. The lecture is on Thursday, October 3 at 10am in the iX Theatre at Miller Nichols Library.  Peterman received his BFA in Printmaking from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2008 and has recently given talks at SXSW Festival and TEDxRichmond.
