The UMKC Bookstores are joining thousands of other college bookstores across North America on Thursday, October 4th to celebrate the second annual National Student Day.

National Student Day, sponsored by the National Association of College Stores (NACS), is a day dedicated to celebrating and promoting social responsibility by college students. The UMKC Bookstore and UMKC Health Sciences Bookstore are taking part to celebrate the countless number of UMKC students who improve the campus community and beyond through their selfless acts and volunteerism.

UMKC Bookstore will host activities planned on October 4th, including refreshments, a 25 percent discount on UMKC clothing and gifts, and free t-shirts to the first 300 students (200 on the Volker campus and 100 on the Hospital Hill campus).

Do you know a fellow student who has contributed exceptional service or leadership to UMKC?  Nominate them to be recognized and awarded a $500 UMKC Bookstore course materials scholarship!   The winner of the UMKC National Student Day contest will be announced prior to the Homecoming Talent Show on the evening of October 4th.   The nomination form can be found at www.umkcbookstore.com by clicking the “National Student Day” icon. Nominations must be received by September 30th.
