International Students Day: Celebrating Saudi Arabia

All UMKC students, faculty, and staff welcome!
The UMKC Libraries are hosting the third International Students Day event, and this time we are celebrating students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia!
The celebration will feature a presentation on the history of music of Saudi Arabia by Dr. Andrew Granade, Associate Professor of Musicology and Chair of the Composition, Music Theory, and Musicology Division at the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance.
Throughout the event there will be henna tattoo and Arabic calligraphy workshops, sampling of authentic Saudi Arabian foods, as well as various entertaining and interactive activities organized by the Saudi Students Union at UMKC.
Program:
- 2:00 – 2:05: Opening remarks
- 2:05 – 2:35: Lecture by Dr. Andrew Granade
- 2:35 – 3:50: Break/Refreshment
- 2:50 – 3:30: Performance by students
- Other concurrent activities: (2:00 to 4:00pm) Authentic Saudi Arabia food sampling Arabic calligraphy workshop Henna Tattoo Book and DVD display
