Interested in studying or working abroad?  Come find out about the many opportunities open to you at the following free events!  Can’t make these?  Contact UMKC International Academic Programs at 816.235.5759 or  international@umkc.edu and stop by an Information Session held every Friday at 2pm at 5325 Rockhill Road.

  • Peace Corps Information Session:  August 31st, 6pm, University Center Alumni Room. Come to an information session to hear stories from returned volunteers. See footage of volunteers in their global communities, learn about the application process and hear about the great benefits volunteers receive!  If you can’t make this session, be sure to attend the Sept 8th workshop to speak with a Peace Corp representative.
  • Study Abroad Fair:  September 6th, 11am-2pm, Student Union Room 401.  Come learn about ways to get UMKC credit while studying overseas by talking to staff, faculty, study abroad providers, and students who have studied abroad themselves.  This is an excellent opportunity to get all your questions answered!
  • International Opportunities After Graduation:  September 8th, 1-3pm, Administrative Center Plaza Room.  Interested in teaching English in Japan?  Volunteering in Eastern Europe?  Interning in Germany?  This workshop will focus on programs that pay participants full or partial salaries or stipends while abroad.  Workshop attendees will learn about ways to research programs, online resources, pre-departure considerations, and more.  Guest speakers will be past participants from the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program, the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET), and Peace Corps and will be available to answer questions about these particular programs.
