How Do I Start my Research? UMKC Libraries Can Help!

By , September 20, 2011 8:26 am

When first using UMKC’s libraries, you will likely encounter a lot of unfamiliar resources and research options. University libraries have specialized databases and more extensive scholarly collections than most high school, community college, or public libraries. Following a disciplined approach to conducting research is the best way to avoid getting overwhelmed by all the choices.

Need some direction to guide you down the best path? Your friendly neighborhood librarians have created a terrific tool to help! How Do I Start My Research? is a web-based “LibGuide” that contains lots of information and instruction about how to do college-level research.  Short videos and written tips will help you to be more confident about completing that assignment. If you still have questions, help from the Research and Instruction Services staff is available at the library, or just a phone call (816-235-1526), e-mail (askalibrarian@umkc.edu), or text (“umkc” + your question to 66746) away.
