Number One Magazine, UMKC’s oldest student literary journal, is now open for submissions of student poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, stage and screenplays, photography, comics, and art for Volume 65.

Student writers and artists are eligible for one of two financial awards for their submission: the $100 Lena Vaughn award for the best Visual Art submission and the $100 John Latosi award for the best Creative Writing submission.

Submissions to the journal are open to all UMKC students (and only UMKC students), and accepted through December 1st.

The optional theme this year is Propaganda. Submissions do not need to adhere to this theme to be considered for publication; a specific section of this year’s magazine will be set aside for themed submissions.
