Kennedy Symposium: an evening with actor, musician, and filmmaker Adrian Grenier, best known for his role as Vincent Chase in the HBO series “Entourage.” Adrian will be talking about his recent film Teenage Paparazzo, which focuses on the complex relationship between celebrities and the media. He will also be screening the film.

The Robert F. Kennedy Symposium was designed to honor Robert F. Kennedy, his accomplishments and vision for America. It has been said that Robert F. Kennedy challenged the complacent in American society and sought to bridge the great divides in American life. Inspired by this rich vision, the Symposium’s goal is to engage students, faculty, staff, and members of the community in sustained exploration of critical social issues from interdisciplinary perspectives.
Do you have trouble finding out how to begin writing essays or papers for class? This seminar is designed to help students become aware of pre-writing methods in order to find the one most suited for them. Also, students will also learn of different databases that are subject-specific and of materials available to them through the UMKC library in order to find sources to write papers and other class assignments. We will also learn together, how to navigate the library website in order to utilize available databases.

Seminars are mandatory for students on financial aid contracts, Bloch Scholars and Osher Scholars. Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes. Students must sign in within 10 minutes of the seminar starting to receive credit.
Developing a spending plan is a smart way to live within your means, create a budget that fits your current status, and reach your financial goals.
A successful spending plan will require you to set and evaluate your financial goals and make important, and sometimes difficult, decisions. To start a spending plan, you must add up your total income. Income is incoming money such as wages from a job or monthly allowances. Then, figure your total expenses. Finally, set aside money for savings or emergencies.

UMKC’s Panhellenic Council is the governing council for our National Panhellenic Conference sororities, which include: Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Chi Omega, and Delta Zeta. The work the council does greatly enhances the experience of each of these sororities. Earlier this month, all their hard work was recognized on a national scale when they received four awards from the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values (AFLV). These awards highlighted their work in the areas of Academic Achievement, Council Management, Recruitment, and Risk Management.
The council spent several months filling out the applications, which were judged by an awards committee comprised of student affairs professionals from various institutions. UMKC’s Panhellenic Council was found to go above and beyond the rest of the Division I chapters in all four areas they applied for. Congratulations to Panhellenic Council!
