Mentors

Achieve success through personalized connections

The UMKC Regnier Entrepreneurship Mentor Program connects students with skilled Kansas City mentors to learn firsthand about starting and running a business or working in a startup. Certified mentors from all fields undergo intensive training to effectively support aspiring student entrepreneurs.

Request Mentorship

If you are a current UMKC student or Entrepreneurship Scholar and would like to meet with a specific mentor, email us with your information. Please include your name, a brief description of your venture and the type of mentoring needed (e.g. law, marketing, financials etc.) We will work to pair you with an available mentor who can expertly address your venture’s needs.

Mentors in Residence

Each week during the fall and spring terms, we host one of our Certified Entrepreneurship Mentors as a Mentor in Residence (MIR). During their time as an MIR, mentors hold office hours, visit classrooms, and host workshops at the Regnier Innovators Club. Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on LinkedIn for up-to-date MIR announcements and more.

Become a Certified Entrepreneurship Mentor

UMKC Regnier Entrepreneurship Mentors wish to see entrepreneurs succeed and view working with student founders as one way to increase the economic vitality of the Kansas City region. Successful mentors prioritize helping students learn the entrepreneurial process and are committed to UMKC’s principles of inclusive excellence, openness, and support for students of all backgrounds. Successful mentors also have worked in a startup, a small business, and/or started their own company with at least four years of experience.
