Entrepreneurship Scholars Application Process
Eligibility
The E-Scholars program is open to UMKC students, students from other institutions and individuals from the community at-large. Admission to the program is competitive, and each application is reviewed by a committee. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Candidates must be available to actively participate in all workshops, activities, and programs. E-Scholars is for individuals who want to expand their entrepreneurial journey in several key ways.

We’re seeking future trailblazers, visionaries, and change-makers. We accept a limited number of highly motivated applicants each semester, focusing on your personal entrepreneurial goals and helping you achieve them.

- Application Submission – The application process is your opportunity to tell us about yourself, your vision, and your goals. Show us your passion, your drive, and your commitment to entrepreneurship. We only accept the most highly motivated applicants, so make sure your application shines.
- Interview with Program Mentor – If your application stands out, you’ll be invited for an interview with an experienced mentor. This is your chance to dive deeper into your idea, discuss your aspirations, and gain valuable insights. It’s a conversation to get to know you and understand your vision.
- Interview with Program Director – Next, you’ll meet with our Program Director. This meeting is an opportunity to explore how our E-Scholars program aligns with your personal and professional goals. We want to ensure that our program is the right fit for you. It’s a chance to ask questions, discuss expectations, and set the stage for your journey ahead.
- Selection Committee Decision – The final step is a review by our selection committee, including seasoned entrepreneurs, educators, and industry experts. They assess your entrepreneurial drive, mentor engagement, presentation skills, and commitment to our community.
