School of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Students Need You

University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry Dental Hygiene students are looking for patients to treat during their licensing exams.

Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, dental hygiene students will perform screening exams at the UMKC School of Dentistry Clinic to identify patients who are qualified to participate in the licensing exams April 28, 29 or 30.

Participation qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Good overall health
  • No braces
  • Most of teeth present
  • No dental cleanings in past 3 to 4 years
  • Not need for immediate dental services (such as extractions) or experiencing intense pain

Patients who pass the screening exam and are selected to participate in the licensing exam can receive a free dental cleaning and X-rays when they return to the dental school April 28, 29 or 30.

To make the process go faster, potential patients should call 816-301-4421 or email umkcfreedentalcleaning@gmail.com to make an appointment for screening between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturday, March 4 at the UMKC School of Dentistry Clinic, 650 E. 25th St., Kansas City, Mo. However, walk-in appointments will be available.
