UMKC Libraries is proud to introduce RooSearch, a sophisticated new search engine for identifying and locating library materials. Available to anyone and as easy to use as Google, RooSearch improves upon the popular search engine by targeting then scouring the Libraries’ vast resources in one simple search.
RooSearch results are more relevant to library users than Google search results, because they include additional information available only through UMKC Libraries’ licensed or proprietary databases. In addition, nearly all the items listed through RooSearch are available at or through UMKC.
Even better, RooSearch provides immediate access to full-text articles, books and materials when they are available. Anyone can use this feature when conducting a search on-site from one of UMKC Libraries’ computers. UMKC students, faculty and staff can enjoy this benefit from any computer – on or off campus – after logging in with their UMKC single sign-on IDs. RooSearch is accessed through the UMKC Libraries Web site (http://library.umkc.edu), and is the local installation of Summon – a search product from Serials Solutions.
