Select Rally House and Kansas Sampler Locations to Carry New Line
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Missouri-Kansas City fans are getting a fresh way to show their pride, thanks to a new line of UMKC gear. A mix of UMKC clothes, flags and car accessories will soon be available at select locations of the Rally House and Kansas Sampler.
The university will kick off the new line with a launch party from 6-7:30 p.m., June 12, at the Kansas Sampler near Oak Park Mall at 9750 Quivira Rd., Lenexa, Kan. The celebration will include special guests Chancellor Leo Morton, new men’s basketball Coach Kareem Richardson and Kasey the Kangaroo.
“This is an exciting step forward for UMKC. Our supporters and alumni have asked for UMKC-branded clothes and accessories at off-campus locations for years, and we’re happy to deliver. It’s one thing to have UMKC pride, but it’s another to show it,” Morton said.
The line will be available online and in the Rally House Plaza location at 452 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, Mo., and the Kansas Sampler near Oak Park Mall. UMKC gear also will continue to be available through the UMKC Bookstore, the Athletics website and the Alumni Association website.
Perhaps the best news for UMKC fans is that this is just the first step in the right direction. Anne Hartung Spenner, vice chancellor for Strategic Marketing and Communications, envisions an even greater UMKC presence in local stores.
“We are Kansas City’s biggest university, and for that reason alone we need more tangible ways for people to show their support. This new partnership with Rally House is a great start,” Spenner said.

This news comes on the heels of the recent announcement that UMKC has partnered with Sporting KC, making UMKC the Major League Soccer team’s only university partner. The collaboration will deliver a season filled with giveaways, contests and a “UMKC Night at Sporting Park.”
This partnership was a natural fit for both organizations. Much like UMKC, Sporting KC serves a diverse, family-oriented crowd. Sporting KC has proven itself to be a positive, valued organization for the Kansas City community, just like UMKC has been for the past 80 years.
