Recognition is given for his advocacy and support of UMKC
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Warren K. Erdman, chair of the University of Missouri Board of Curators, was presented with a certificate of honorary alumni status on behalf of the UMKC Alumni Association in recognition of his support for the University and commitment to higher education.
The UMKC Alumni Association can bestow “Honorary Member” status to non-alumni who have rendered outstanding service to the Association or the University. Selection of such honorary members is made by the Alumni Governing Board.
“Warren has devoted so much time and energy to this University,” said Damon Bryant, president of the UMKC Alumni Association. “The Alumni board wanted to recognize his leadership and service by welcoming him officially as an honorary ‘Roo.’ ”
Erdman is an alumnus of Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. He is executive vice president-administration and corporate affairs for Kansas City Southern, an international transportation holding company headquartered in Kansas City, Mo.
Erdman is a member of the UMKC Board of Trustees, where he has served in several roles including Vice Chair for Legislative Affairs. He also is a former member of the Bloch School of Management Advisory Board and the UMKC Friends of the Conservatory. In addition to his service on the University of Missouri Board of Curators that began in 2007, he is on the board of Dickinson Financial Corp., the Downtown Council of Kansas City and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
