UM System Presidential Search Forum Here Friday

UMKC community invited to give input on UM System presidential search

The UMKC community is invited to be part of the search process for the next president of the University of Missouri System. The presidential search committee will hold an open forum at UMKC to give faculty, staff, students and others in the Kansas City area an opportunity to provide input on the proposed characteristics and desired qualifications sought in the next UM System president.

The open forum will be held Friday, April 8, 2016, from 12-1:30 p.m. in Room 401BC of the UMKC Student Union.

The search committee consists of all members of the UM Board of Curators, the Student Representative to the Board, two co-chairs, and four at-large representatives, including Rakeem Golden, a junior majoring in sociology at UMKC. The committee will use input gathered at the open forum to develop a qualifications statement for use in recruiting and selecting candidates for the position.

The UMKC community is encouraged to participate in the open forum so the committee may gather perspectives from across the university as the national search process begins. The forum will be livestreamed with a live link and final recording to be posted on the presidential search website at https://www.umsystem.edu/ps/. No registration is required. For those who cannot attend the forum and would like to provide input on desired candidate characteristics and qualifications, comments may be submitted by email to umpresidentialsearch@umsystem.edu no later than April 8.
