Men Walk a Mile to Support Violence Prevention

More than 100 men took part in the recent annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® to help stop violence against women.

The May 1 walk held at the University of Missouri-Kansas City invited men from UMKC and the Kansas City community to don women’s shoes and walk a full mile in them, to raise awareness of the detrimental impact sexual assault has on women.

Walk a Mile is sponsored by the UMKC Women’s Center and the Violence Prevention and Response Project and this was its seventh event at UMKC. Proceeds benefit the UMKC Violence Prevention and Response Project.
