The 2013 Major League Soccer All-Star Game, held on July 31, was played to a packed stadium at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas.

In this story from KCUR-FM, Sports Reporter Greg Echlin chronicles Kansas City’s transformation into a soccer hotbed. In fact, Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber cites the Kansas City area as one of the great sports turnarounds in America’s soccer history.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City recently joined in on the fun when it became Sporting KC’s only university partner. This month, Sporting is promoting a Rally with the Roos contest in which 10 winners receive two Sporting KC tickets, food and beverages, one parking pass, two Rally with the Roos t-shirts and one team-signed soccer ball.
