Some Expert Advice on Helping Your College Students Succeed and Remain in School

As the spring semester starts on local college campuses, many first-year students won’’t be re-joining their classmates. And studies show up to one-third of freshman don’’t return to the same school for their sophomore year. Some transfer, some take a break, and many never return to school. Joining us to share some insights on the challenges students face and to offer advice on how they can better their chances to successfully complete that first year of college are Mary Mazuk, director of the Academic Advising Resource Center at Mount St. Joseph University; Patrick Eagan, History instructor and baseball coach at Thomas More College; and Dr. Jason Martin, assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
