UMKC professor produces, directs critically acclaimed feature film
The feature film, Works in Progress, by UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management Professor Stephen Pruitt, made its theatrical debut at Kansas City’s Screenland Crown Center on December 10.
A romantic comedy set in Kansas City’s Crossroads District, the film was written, produced, and directed by Pruitt and his wife, Mary Pruitt. It has received local and national attention.
Works in Progress, which stars Greg Brostrom, Ben Jeffrey, Christina Blodgett, and Kate Bartholomew, follows the lives of two recent small-town art school graduates and two successful, but unfulfilled urban professionals during the course of one summer. The film will run through December 16 at the Screenland.
Prof. Pruitt is the Arvin Gottlieb/Missouri Endowed Chair of Business Economics and Finance and has served as the Bloch School’s Chair of Business Economics and Finance.
