KCUR: Speaking Out on Campus

Student weighs in on critical thinking and free speech

Listen to the story here.

As college students seek a higher education, are universities inhibiting critical thinking and free speech? That’s the concern of Greg Lukianoff, author of “Unlearning Liberty: Campus Censorship and the End of American Debate.”

Lukianoff shared his thoughts on a recent edition of KCUR- FM’s Central Standard.

Host Jabullani Leffall invited University of Missouri-Kansas City Senior Roze Brooks to weigh in on the conversation. She and Rockhurst University student Quentin Savwoir discussed the roles that free speech and critical thinking play on a modern college campus. Brooks is majoring in journalism and creative writing.

KCUR-FM is a service of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
