KCUR general manager appointed to Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s board of directors

The United States Senate recently approved the nomination of Patricia Deal Cahill to serve on the board of directors for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Cahill serves as general manager of KCUR-FM, a public radio station at UMKC and as an assistant professor in UMKC’s Department of Communication Studies.

For 40 years, Cahill has worked in public radio. Before joining KCUR, she served as general manager and news and program director of KMUW-FM at Wichita State University. Cahill also served as an instructor in speech communications and journalism at the school. She has served on the board of directors of NPR and as president of the board of Public Radio in Mid America (PRIMA).

Cahill earned a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Kansas. Her term expires in 2014.
