The University of Missouri-Kansas City wrapped up Homecoming 2012 in style.

Food trucks and bounce houses dotted the Quad on Saturday Oct. 6, during a lively Block Party. Kasey the Kangaroo, the UMKC cheerleaders and dance team members, along with a DJ, entertained a crowd of alumni, current students, and community members.

But it wasn’t all fun and games. In true Roo spirit, the UMKC Alumni Association joined the National Kidney Foundation to sponsor the annual fundraising walk. Participants followed a two-mile route around the campus, beginning at the Quad on the Volker campus.

That evening, the UMKC men’s soccer team defeated Oral Roberts 2 to1 at Durwood Stadium. The victory capped an array of homecoming events, from a golf cart parade to a Classic Roo fashion show.
