‘Entourage’ star Adrian Grenier headlines annual RFK Symposium

He didn’t exactly bring an “entourage” along with him, but Adrian Grenier did draw a crowd when he appeared in the UMKC Student Union on March 19 as the featured speaker for the Student Government Association’s (SGA) 43rd Annual Robert F. Kennedy Symposium.

Adrian Grenier discusses his career and recent documentary film.

Best known for his leading role in the Emmy-nominated HBO series “Entourage,” Grenier discussed his career and screened for the audience his recent documentary film, “Teenage Paparozzo,” which focuses on the complex relationship between celebrities and the media.

The film documents the true story of a relationship between a 14 year-old paparazzo (Austin Visschedyk) and Grenier. Inspired by a chance encounter with Visschedyk during a night out, Grenier decided, for a change, to turn the cameras on the paparazzi in an effort to document this unique teenager’s world. The resulting film depicts a celebrity-crazed world and highlights the increasingly individual power of media.

“SGA chose Adrian Grenier as the speaker for this year’s Robert F. Kennedy Symposium in an effort to approach the symposium from a new angle and draw more involvement from the college crowd,” said Jay Devineni, SGA President.
