UMKC prepares to welcome family and friends for commencement ceremony weekend
As the University of Missouri-Kansas City welcomes family and friends of Spring 2012 graduates, several renovation projects are also taking place on campus. Due to the ongoing construction of UMKC’s Cherry Street parking structure, parking arrangements will be different than past commencement ceremonies.
Students and guests attending the ceremony are encouraged to park in the Rockhill parking structure, 5200 Rockhill Rd., Kansas City, Mo. There also will be limited parking in the University Center lots. Shuttle bus service will be provided to transport guests from the Rockhill parking structure and other parking locations on campus to Swinney Recreational Center, 5030 Holmes, Kansas City, Mo. Shuttles will also transport School of Biological Sciences graduates and guests to White Recital Hall in the Olson Performing Arts Center, 4949 Cherry Kansas City, Mo. The Platform party members for each ceremony, with the exception of the School of Nursing, Conservatory of Music and Dance and the School of Biological Sciences/MSA, will process over to Swinney (down 51st St.) for their ceremonies. In case of bad weather, shuttles will be available to transport Platform members from the Student Union to Swinney and the Performing Arts Center.
