Announcement adds to impressive string of rankings
The University of Missouri-Kansas City Henry W. Bloch School of Management again has received a top national ranking for one of its programs. The Bloch School accounting program CPA pass rate has been ranked among the top 5 in the nation in the category of medium-size programs by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy CPA Candidate Performance Book. UMKC has a pass rate of 73.2 percent and an average score of 77.8.
CPA exam candidates report their academic affiliation when taking the exam, allowing NASBA to accumulate yearly statistics on candidate performance on the Uniform CPA Examination, and the reported success rate is determined from these pieces of information.
“The Bloch School’s success can be attributed to the fact we constantly remind and prepare our students for specific content areas of the CPA exam,” said Georgia Smedley, Ph.D., accounting department chair. “The exam represents the level of excellence required of all successful accountants and at the Bloch School we instill all of our accounting students with the professional skills and mindset required to be successful.”
This ranking is the latest of many achievements by the Bloch School in the past year which can be found at http://info.umkc.edu/blochnews/.
